多くのご家庭では、お子さんの初めての受験が高校受験です。
そのため、親子ともに受験の勝手がわからず、とりあえず大手の塾に入れてみようとされているのではないでしょうか。
大手の塾のやり方が合っていて、学力が伸びる生徒さんはもちろんいらっしゃいます。
しかし、一方で大手の塾に通っても、「授業の内容についていけない」、「宿題が適当になってしまう」、「学力が伸び悩む」といった生徒さんたちもいらっしゃいます。
その結果、学校の成績も悪く、お子さんも「勉強しているけどできない」と勉強にやる気をなくしてしまい、受験ひいては勉強に対しやる気をなくしてしまいます。
西新宿個別指導塾では、受験・勉強に対しやる気をなくさせないために、下記２点のように高校受験に対し取り組んでいます。
定期三者面談の実施
当塾の定期面談は、塾の授業の様子や模試の成績などの情報共有の場の役割をもつだけではありません。
塾スタッフと親御さん、お子さんの３者でそれぞれ考えを言い合います。
そして、お子さんの考え、親御さんの考えをすり合わせ、お子さんがこれからやるべき内容を同意のもと決めていきます。
また、三者面談の際、高校受験の制度についてもしっかりと説明させていただきます。
特に都立高校を目指される場合は、入試制度が私立や他県公立学校と違うため、内申点のか考え方や偏差値の考え方から説明させていただいています。
生徒さんの状況に合った授業内容
当塾では、生徒さんの状況にあった授業内容を１人１人に対し考え、提供しています。
塾生専用の受験テキストで授業を進めることもあれば、学校の教科書・問題集をベースに進める授業も実施しています。
また、生徒さんによっては受け身だけの授業ではなく、学習した内容を先生に説明し、先生からの質問を受けながら学習を進めて行く能動型の授業も実施しています。
在日外国人の生徒さんへのサポート
現在、西新宿界隈では、在日外国人の方が多くいらっしゃいます。
お子さんが小学校高学年や中学生になってから来日すると、日本の高校へ進学するかの問題にぶつかります。
高校から自国に戻る場合は問題はあまりないですが、日本の高校へ進学する場合は、２つの大きな壁があります。
１つめは入試制度の問題です。
日本の高校受験制度は外国の制度と大きく異なるため、外国の方が理解するのは難しいです。
また、在日外国人用の入試制度もあるのですが、その情報を得に行くのも様々な教育機関のＨＰを確認したり、問い合わせをしたりする必要があるためハードルが高くなります。
２つめは、国語の問題です。
日本人の学生の方と同じように、高校受験に臨むと国語がネックとなります。
そのため、３科目受験でも、５科目受験でも、まず国語が０点付近だということになります。
そうすると、残り２科目、４科目でどれだけスコアを取るかという戦いになります。その作戦を組み立てるのが外国人の親御さんだけだと難しいのが実情です。
西新宿個別指導塾では、上記２つの大きな壁を生徒さんと一緒に打破するように対策を講じています。
昨年も中学３年生の時に来日した生徒さんが塾に８ヶ月通い、対策と戦略を講じ、都立高校に無事合格できました。
Support for foreign students living in Japan
Currently, there are many foreign residents in Japan in the Nishi-Shinjuku area.
If your children come to Japan when they are in the upper grades of elementary school or junior high school, you will run into the problem of whether they will be able to go to high school in Japan.
If they return to their home country after high school, there is not much of a problem, but if they want to go to a Japanese high school, there are two major obstacles.
The first is the problem of the entrance exam system.
The Japanese high school entrance examination system is very different from the system in other countries, and it is difficult for foreigners to understand.
There is also an entrance exam system for foreigners living in Japan, but getting information about it requires checking the websites of various educational institutions and making inquiries, so the hurdle is high. Secondly, there is the issue of the Japanese language.
Just like Japanese students, the Japanese language is a bottleneck when it comes to high school entrance exams.
Therefore, whether you take three or five subjects, the first thing you need to do is to score near zero in Japanese.
Then, it becomes a battle to see how many points you can get in the remaining two or four subjects, but it is difficult for foreign parents to plan such a strategy alone. At Nishishinjukukobetushidoujuku, we take measures to break through the above two major barriers together with our students.
